TUKI JENCQUEL
Producer
Tuki is a Venezuelan-German-French filmmaker based in Berlin.
His feature documentaries Está Todo Bien (IDFA, Sheffield Doc/Fest) and Jackie the Wolf (Hot Docs 2023) both explore moments when private lives intersect with politics — from Venezuela’s collapsing healthcare system to my mother’s lucid and public decision to end her life through assisted suicide. Both premiered at major international festivals, had theatrical releases, and are available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime.
He studied Film & TV at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he was shaped by mentors who taught that filmmaking begins with responsibility — to one’s subject, one’s audience, and oneself. Those lessons continue to shape his work.
In parallel, he has collaborated with Ai Weiwei as a cinematographer on projects in Gaza, Brazil, and Ukraine, and directed an investigative documentary for Deutsche Welle.
